A whole world of radio?
In 1960 my father had a huge radio tune spent hours all stations around the world. We lived in London, and he was Spanish, so Spanish stations tuned-I would get something similar, but what is the modern equivalent of this?
Ah, yes, the great age of 60 shortwave radios with this mysterious bright orange glow of vacuum tubes inside. Sounds familiar from my childhood, except that it was me who was doing the listening. Well, they are still called short-wave radios (sometimes world-band radio), but now are much smaller and cheaper. And do not emit enough heat to warm a small room.
