Podcast Joe Rogan

Does anybody listen to the joe rogan experience podcast?

And if so do you get something out of it? Joe is so smart, and even though i might not agree with everything he says but he forces me to think. Also i want to know the age of the listeners, I am 17 and sometimes i think i shouldn’t hear some of the stuff they talk about. haha
I didn’t know where to put the question but i know a lot of mma fans listen to him.
@flawed That is neither here nor there, i asked if you listen to the podcast and if so what do you take from it. I suggest you give it a lesson my friend

Joe Rogan comes off as a fairly bright guy who for some unfortunate reasons, never really performed to his full potential in school, but still got ahead in life.

His podcast persona is likeable, entertaining, and smart, and it’s easy to see why JRE is immensely popular. He often has interesting observations and analyses. But the podcasts are a mixed bag. I really don’t see what’s interesting or funny about Joey Diaz, for instance. And they are often crude and reveal an almost complete lack of moral sense. I’m also not someone who gets his jollies by hearing about the personal lives of people in show business, so that whole element is wasted on me as well. And as interesting as toxoplasmosis is, how many times can you hear him explain it, and still find it interesting?

Some traditional martial artists know him only for Fear Factor and his disdain for tma, and won’t give him a hearing. That’s fine, everyone has the right to prejudge, and no one is “obligated” to give him an audience. There’s nothing particularly virtuous or earth-shattering about Rogan’s podcasts. But they would be terribly misguided if they were to accuse him of being a clueless MMA fanboy. Rogan trained in TMA for years, obtaining his black belt and competing successfully in tournaments. After switching over to the “mma side” of things, he earned a brown belt from both the Machados and Eddie Bravo.

I’ve listened to maybe about a dozen of his podcasts, and have quit to listen to ones that I consider more worthwhile, which include a lot of public radio stuff. Radiolab is my personal favourite right now. There’s some amazing stuff in there. I recommend it to everyone, but be advised that the tone is very different from JRE.

Rogan’s comedy album “Shiny Happy Jihad”, despite its really stupid name, is mostly pretty funny, and a few tiers above the stuff in his podcasts. “Talking Monkeys in Space” didn’t quite live up to the standard, IMO.
