The Jonas Brothers are an American pop rock band from Wyckoff, New Jersey.
Biography
The Jonas Brothers band was started as a solo project of the youngest member and brother, Nicholas Jonas. Once brought to the attention of record label two other brothers who had musical talent and were signed by "The Jonas Brothers" to Columbia Records. The boys recently converted labels but with Hollywood Records. The group is composed of three brothers, Joe Jonas, 17, Kevin Jonas, 19, and Nick Jonas, 14. Before deciding on the name "The Jonas Brothers" the brothers considered "Sons of Jonas" and "The Jonas Trio". They released their first album, It's About Time, August 8, 2006. His most recent self-titled album, Jonas Brothers is set to release August 7, 2007.
The Jonas Brothers have been featured on MTV's Total Request Live, with its music video for "Mandy" reaching number four. In addition, The Jonas Brothers made number 2 on the TRL top ten with their video "Hold On". The group also has had his music featured in the Nickelodeon television film Zoey 101: Spring Break-Up. They performed "(Yo Ho) A pirate's life for me" to DisneyMania 4, and were presented in cartoon Cartoon Cartoon Network Friday. His father was in charge of getting the band offers for registration. Wishing to provide its rapid expansion with new music fans, the band went into the studio Seedy underbelly in February with producer John Fields, whose work on Switchfoots The Beautiful Letdown had made the boys his fans. John lives rock music, Joe says the producer, whos also worked with Rooney and Pink. I always thought it would be great to work with.
They worked quickly, recording the album from start to finish in just 21 days, a feat they achieved in part because knew the material so well: Where their first job appears a handful of professional songwriters, The Jonas Brothers only contains songs written by Jonas Brothers themselves, sometimes with the help of friends like Bleu (that's just the way we roll), PJ Bianco (When you look me in the eyes) and the boys own backing band (Games). As brothers, we just know how to work together, Nick explains.
When we signed to Hollywood, Kevin recalls, we told the label, Hey, we have some demos of We have been writing songs for the past year and a half. We'd be so much fun to record only the songs for the album to see what they could get away with yours. But those turned out to be the album's songs!
The brothers say their writing reveals a lifetime of influenceseverything My Chemical Romance to the Backstreet Boys to Weird Al Yankovic (with whom the band shared the stage in New Jerseys Bamboozle festival). However, what really hear on The Jonas Brothers is the sound of three young voicetheir musicians find their own way own distinctive blend of Nicks with a R & B vocal, Joe's love of danceable beats and obsession with guitar solos Kevins. This album is so us, says Joe. The first one was us kind of coming into what the Jonas Brothers could be, Kevin adds. Whereas this one really shines where were at this time. The young Jonas but perhaps the wisest, Nick concludes: We love what we were doing and we want to do for a while.
